Deep Under Cover: Uncle Mike's Inside-The-Pant Holster Review.

Many people, including myself, like to think about getting that perfect concealed carry handgun. We go over and over the manufacturers, models, calibers, sizes, features, colors, et cetera. But one thing that can be overlooked, in some cases, is the holster. I had just such an issue. When I first got my Bersa (which is the firearm that the above holster is for), I was satisfied to carry it in the Quick Duck pocket inside my Carhartt. With the temperature slowly climbing back up to the proper level for the season, that Carhartt is going to find its way into storage, but I still need to carry my pistol. That's where a trip to Gander Mountain helped introduce me to a good, affordable holster system.

Enter Uncle Mike's holsters. The one that I have is the Inside-The-Pant Holster size 1 for 3"-4" Barrel Medium Automatics, shown below.

Like A Glove... a pistol glove
The holster is very well made despite its $15.99 price tag at Gander Mountain. It is made of ultra thin laminate which simulates suede leather with a smooth nylon interior to allow for easier drawing. The suede-like exterior helps to hold the holster in place inside the pant. The material also helps prevent perspiration from reaching the firearm and causing corrosion. The polymer belt/waistband hook helps to hold the holster firmly in place.

Everything is stitched tightly in place to ensure comfort while being a very strong holster.

Now you see it...
Now you don't. Do bullets make YOU happy??

As you can see in the above pictures, even with a gut, this gun is concealed under my shirt nicely. The holster can be carried any way you like. I prefer the "appendix" carry, but it does well with "kidney" carry too.

Now you see me...
Now you still see me... This is a job for a button up shirt. lol
You can even comfortably carry the gun in your pocket and, depending on your pockets and your shirts, can conceal it fairly well.

My shirt is pulled up slightly but the only thing you see is the hook when concealed.
Uncle Mike's has several sizes of Inside-The-Pant holsters, up to 5" barrel automatics, to accommodate whatever your carry needs. They also have a full range of other common types including shoulder holsters, kydex and paddle holsters. Additionally, they carry gun cases, slings, and competition bags.

That concludes this bit on the Uncle Mike's Inside-The-Pant holster system. I have carried my Bersa in this little guy for about 3 months and I haven't regretted it. If you want a good holster and don't have much more than pocket money, this is an excellent choice. If you want to take a peek at the rest of the products, visit http://www.unclemikes.com
